My name is Gemma Conde Huertas, an English and Spanish teacher born in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain). I've been through different adventures for all my life: living in different places all over Spain during my childhood such as La Garriga (Barcelona), Becerreá (Lugo), Talavera de la Reina (Toledo) among others, and traveling to lots of places around Europe and the USA.
I have always wanted to become a teacher so I put a lot of effort to get to that and got scholarships to study at university in Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha. Suddenly I knew I had the chance to get into an exchange program to study for a semester at Hanover College (Indiana). I continued working hard and after some time I was selected for the program, a dream come true.
After returning to Spain, I graduated and gave private lessons to students who needed help, and prepared myself to become a civil servant. I have taught at different schools since then and the more I work, the more I love my job.
In my free time I love going for walks, reading, going to the movies, playing the piano, listening to all kinds of music, dancing and sports. I think that everything that you do helps you grow as a person and that is important in life.
This will be my first year teaching at Louisville Public Schools and I hope it is the first of many. I will be teaching Spanish in Elementary and High School.
To conclude I must say that every adventure and every person I've come across have made me the person I am today. Passionate about life and teaching living a dream in Louisville Public Schools.
Remember, everything you do matters! You matter!
